Houston Public Media Fall Work-Study Opportunities
Program Information
Interested students must qualify for the College Work-Study program to participate. Students can contact the College Work-Study office at UH to confirm their eligibility.
Our interns will produce daily newscasts for radio, write articles for our website and work with a mentor to produce one to two in-depth news reports.
The internship is for the entire academic year, or until the student’s College Work-Study Award runs out. Pay is $15/hour.
Interns will work 10-20 hours a week. We will work with interns to establish a set schedule each semester, based on their class schedule.
We are reviewing applications on a rolling basis, until the position is filled, but applications received by Aug. 21 will be prioritized.
Students can find the job listing by searching “Houston Public Media Newsroom Intern” on Cougar Pathways. The job ID number is 105299, if they prefer to search by job ID number.
If students do not see the job listing, they should call the College Work-Study office at 713-743-5100 to ask for help. The College Work-Study office should be able to help them troubleshoot and access the listing. If a student does not see the job in Cougar Pathways, there are a few potential reasons why:
The student has not yet accepted their College Work Study award through AccessUH/mUH (PeopleSoft)
The student does not have their search filters set to “College Work-Study” in Cougar Pathways.
The student is not enrolled in at least six credit hours.
