Oral History Assistant College Work Study - UH Center for Public History
The position also offers the opportunity to gain publishing experience with the Houston History magazine, which uses our interviews. Students will assist in the production of Houston History magazine articles, proofreading, editing, and learning to create and post website content. If desired and agreed upon, they will also have the chance to write and publish an article of their own.
Houston History Magazine Assistant College Work Study - UH Center for Public History
Houston History magazine is seeking a dedicated student to assist in production of the Houston History magazine and website. The student will work with the editor-in-chief, Dr. Debbie Z. Harwell, graduate assistants, and other students to coordinate magazine content for publication of the fall issue. Students will attend weekly staff meetings, proofread and edit articles, learn to locate images for articles and write captions, conduct research, perform rewrites, and coordinate with other students in a peer review process. They will also learn to create and post website content. Once a semester, students will attend magazine launch events to assist with set up and greeting guests.
