Houston History Magazine Assistant College Work Study - UH Center for Public History
Houston History magazine is seeking a dedicated student to assist in production of the Houston History magazine and website. The student will work with the editor-in-chief, Dr. Debbie Z. Harwell, graduate assistants, and other students to coordinate magazine content for publication of the fall issue. Students will attend weekly staff meetings, proofread and edit articles, learn to locate images for articles and write captions, conduct research, perform rewrites, and coordinate with other students in a peer review process. They will also learn to create and post website content. Once a semester, students will attend magazine launch events to assist with set up and greeting guests.
Training will be provided for all job duties, so you need not be an expert to apply.
This is a part time position, asking students for up to 15 hours of work per week, and will pay $14-15 an hour.
