Video Production Intern - UH Optometry
Founded in 1952, UHCO prepares future optometrists in careers in clinical practice, teaching, and biomedical research. We are also home to UH Eye Care, our clinical training arm that provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art vision and specialized eye health services to the University of Houston community and the general public. We are the only optometry school in Texas with an ambulatory surgery center. UHCO will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2027.
Job Description
The Video Production Intern will collaborate closely with the UH Optometry (UHCO) leadership team to produce a 75th anniversary video that will tell the story of UHCO's legacy and impact. The ideal candidate will present storyboards, act as the primary videographer, manage on-set logistics to capture high-quality b-roll, and conduct professional, on-camera interviews. Utilizing creative post-production workflows, the video production intern will take full ownership of editing and audio mixing the captured footage. The primary objective of this role is to produce a polished final video that is ready for distribution before the end of the semester (early December 2026). This internship offers an opportunity to enhance a student's portfolio while directly elevating the UH and UHCO's brand identity.
Qualifications
Major in Film/Digital Cinematography or Broadcast TV. Journalism majors with film and editing experience will be considered. Rising junior and above preferred.
