Founded in 1961, WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival is one of the longest-running independent film festivals in the world. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, WorldFest champions emerging filmmakers through film exhibition, education, networking, and professional development. Each spring, the festival welcomes filmmakers from around the globe to Houston for screenings, seminars, panels, and community events. As we celebrate our 60th Anniversary, we're expanding our year-round educational programming, industry partnerships, and community outreach to support the next generation of storytellers.
Job Description
Join the team behind one of the world's longest-running independent film festivals!
The Communications & Film Festival Intern will work closely with the Executive Director to support preparations for WorldFest-Houston's 60th Anniversary. Responsibilities may include:
Social media content creation and scheduling
Marketing and communications
Public relations and media outreach
Website updates and content development
Filmmaker and community engagement
Sponsorship and partnership research
Event planning and production support
Festival archives and historical storytelling
Photography, video, and interview opportunities
General nonprofit arts administration
This internship offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit arts management while working alongside filmmakers, community leaders, and industry professionals.
Multiple internship opportunities available based on student interests and skills.
Qualifications
We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, and dependable students with strong communication skills and a passion for storytelling, film, and the arts. Students should be organized, collaborative, and eager to learn in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. Previous experience with social media, photography, video production, event planning, or nonprofit organizations is a plus but not required.
