Communications Intern - American Red Cross

The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region seeks a dynamic, self-starter person, to assist in communication efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of the Communications realm within the Texas Gulf Coast Region (TGCR), while working for a well-known community based nonprofit organization.

Job Duties
• Update and maintain the social media presence on Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram. This includes creating content, planning Facebook lives and working to implement already existing social media plan.
• Create graphics for use in the region
• Assist in planning, writing and managing monthly TGCR Newsletter
• Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
• Going to Red Cross events and taking videos and photos for use
• Work with community organizations, the general public and donors to promote messaging about the American Red Cross’s mission
• Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions and venues for already existing communication plan

Qualifications

10 hours a week and one to two days in the office
