Social Media Intern, Community Manager, Market Researcher - Covara Auto LLC
Covara is a Houston-based startup building a subscription platform that connects women vehicle owners with trusted auto repair shops — we seek to provide live video advocate support and real-time guidance so women never have to navigate the auto repair industry alone. We are pre-launch and currently building our founding community. We are seeking someone to build Covara’s social media presence, host community building events and conduct structured qualitative interviews with Houston women about their experiences in the auto repair industry to complete our proof of concept and market validation.
Job Description
• Community Building and Community Engagement — Create and grow Covara's social media presence including Facebook and Instagram. Create posts, recruit members organically, and send regular updates to Founder.
• Market Research and Data Collection— Conduct structured interviews with Houston women about their real auto repair experiences. Log data and findings in a provided form (Google Sheets) and produce a report identifying key themes.
• Ongoing Management — Maintain and monitor the community, deliver reports on engagement, growth, and member insights.
You'll walk away with real experience in community building, qualitative market research, startup culture, and brand communications — plus a founder reference and portfolio content.
Work to be conducted remotely. Ability to attend few in-person events and meet in-person with Founder approximately 1x per week, in Houston.
This is a milestone-based, paid position, approximately 10-20 hours per week, 8 weeks, beginning in May 2026. Position to be filled no later than May 15, 2026.
Qualifications
• Academic and personal experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Sociology, Journalism, or a related field
• High proficiency in navigating social media platforms and content creation
• Ability to independently build and grow an online community
• Creative thinker, fine attention to detail, comfortable sharing ideas
• Comfortable initiating conversations with strangers in person and online
• Organized and self-directed — able to manage a flexible schedule with minimal supervision
