Communications Intern - American Red Cross
The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization dedicated to preventing and alleviating human suffering in the face of emergencies. Guided by a network of volunteers, donors, and community partners, the Red Cross provides disaster relief, supports military families, collects and distributes lifesaving blood products, delivers health and safety training, and helps communities prepare for and recover from crises.
Every year, Red Cross volunteers respond to disasters ranging from home fires to large-scale hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. Through its mission-driven work, the organization offers meaningful opportunities for students and young professionals to gain hands-on experience in communications, community engagement, disaster response, event planning, volunteer management, and nonprofit operations.
An internship with the American Red Cross provides the chance to develop professional skills while making a tangible impact in local communities. Interns work alongside experienced staff and volunteers, contributing to programs that strengthen community resilience, support disaster survivors, and advance the organization's lifesaving mission.
