Strategic Communications Resident (AI Innovation Lab) - Blue People
Blue People is a premier technology partner with over a decade of experience driving digital transformation for global enterprises. With a track record of excellence in high-performance software development and nearshore technical talent, we have established ourselves as a cornerstone of the Houston tech ecosystem, headquartered in the heart of the city’s innovation hub at The Ion.
As we look toward the future in 2026, Blue People is expanding its footprint into specialized AI Consulting. Our mission is to bridge the gap between complex LLM capabilities and practical business utility. Our soon to launch flagship product, AgentsToGo, is a first-of-its-kind e-commerce marketplace that democratizes access to "plug-and-play" AI Agents—ranging from automated invoice managers to virtual receptionists. We are not just building technology; we are redefining how businesses interact with the next generation of digital labor.
As Blue People launches AgentsToGo, we are seeking a cohort of Strategic Communications Residents to join our Summer 2026 Innovation Lab. This residency is a front-row seat to the AI revolution, designed for students who want to master the art of "Technical Storytelling."
Led by Dr. Alfredo Arvide (Chief Innovation Officer), this program moves beyond traditional internship tasks, functioning instead as a professional residency where students will learn to navigate the Go-To-Market (GTM) complexities of frontier technology. Based out of our office at The Ion, residents will participate in weekly "Innovation Lab" mentorship sessions, exploring the intersection of AI, marketing, and business strategy.

- Strategic Narrative Development: Learn to translate complex AI capabilities (automation, LLMs, and digital labor) into compelling, benefit-driven copy for website, social media, and direct-to-consumer campaigns.
- Market Research & Persona Mapping: Conduct deep-dive research into specific industries (Legal, Healthcare, Retail) to identify where AI Agents can provide the most immediate value.
- Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy: Collaborate on a "Capstone Project"—a comprehensive communication and launch plan for a new category of AI Agents.
- Media & PR Coordination: Gain hands-on experience drafting press releases and media pitches that explain the societal and economic impact of "Agents-as-a-Service."
- Performance Analysis: Utilize data tools to monitor how different audiences respond to AI-centric messaging, learning to iterate on strategy in real-time.
Core Communication & Content Skills
- Technical Storytelling: The ability to synthesize complex AI concepts into clear, persuasive narratives for diverse audiences.

- Persona Development: Conducting research to build detailed profiles of target customers (e.g., small business owners, legal firms, HR departments).
- Market Research: Identifying industry trends, competitor movements, and "white space" opportunities within the AI sector.
Modern Tech Literacy
-AI Tool Proficiency: Experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) such as Gemini or ChatGPT for research, drafting, and ideation.
- Digital Campaign Tracking: Basic understanding of how to measure the success of a communication campaign through engagement metrics.

- Digital Native: Familiarity with modern social media platforms and digital marketing trends.
- AI Literacy: Experience using Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude) for research or creative assistance is a major plus.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A "self-starter" attitude with a desire to work in a fast-paced, "startup-style" environment within an established firm.
- Strategic Thinker: An interest in "The Why"—understanding how a product launch moves from a technical idea to a household name.
Hours Per Week
10–15 hours per week
Schedule: Flexible, hybrid model.
Core Requirement: Attendance at a weekly 60-minute "Innovation Lab" mentorship session (held at The Ion or virtually).
