Communications & Social Media Assistant - Arab-American Educational Foundation

The Arab-American Educational Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit founded in 1985, is committed to advancing educational opportunities and cultural awareness in the larger community. We are seeking a creative and organized Communications Assistant to support our outreach and engagement efforts across multiple platforms. Visit https://theaaef.org for more information.

Job Description
• Draft and send emails to our subscriber list
• Upload and manage our email distribution list
• Assist with social media updates (posting, scheduling, basic graphics)
• Support website content updates as needed
• Publish one social media post per week across our platforms
• Send one email newsletter to our list per month

Qualifications

At least junior year status or rising junior as of Summer or Fall 2026
Reliable laptop/computer and access to Internet
Some experience with social media posting, graphics creation

Ideal Candidate:
• Strong written communication skills
• Familiarity with email platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, or similar)
• Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
• Basic knowledge of website CMS tools (WordPress, Squarespace, or similar) a plus
• Familiarity with graphics creation platform such as Canva (we have a nonprofit account you can be granted access to use)
• Familiarity with Google Drive and file sharing a plus
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
• Can respond to request in a timely manner (replies within 24 hours)
