7 Week Rotational Intern - Houston Children's Charity

Houston Children's Charity is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Greater Houston’s underprivileged, abused, and disabled children who have been otherwise left behind. The scope of our support is limited only by the availability of resources. Our goal is to leave no legitimate request for assistance unanswered.

Job Description

The Houston Children’s Charity Summer Internship is a 6–7 week, part-time program where interns rotate through key nonprofit departments to gain hands-on experience. Interns spend each week shadowing staff in areas like fundraising, programs, marketing, events, and volunteer coordination, while completing small, meaningful tasks such as drafting communications, organizing materials, and assisting with logistics.

The program is designed to build professional skills and provide a well-rounded understanding of nonprofit operations, ending with a short capstone project summarizing their experience and impact.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates for the Houston Children’s Charity Summer Internship are current college students or recent graduates with an interest in nonprofit work, communications, event planning, or community engagement. Strong communication and organizational skills, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are important.

There are no strict technical requirements; however, applicants should be reliable, able to commit 15–25 hours per week for the duration of the program, and comfortable working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
