The Executive & Internal Communications team produces UH Today and UH Magazine. We also develop content for faculty and staff. Executive Communications supports the president, cabinet and UH System Board of Regents with strategic messaging and leadership communications. We also collaborate with our peers across the University Marketing & Communications division providing content guidance, project management and creative services. Job Description
This on-campus position in Executive and Internal Communications offers an immersive learning experience to gain practical public relations and marketing skills while building your professional portfolio. Located at the historic Ezekiel Cullen Building, this non-work study role pays $13 per hour for a preferred 15–20 hours per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday).
Key Responsibilities
• Content Creation & Editing: Draft copy, edit articles, interview sources, and conduct background research.
• Digital & Web Publishing: Produce online newsletters, build visual stories using the Shorthand web platform, and update web pages via Modern Campus.
• Operations & Analytics: Perform data entry and analysis, organize meeting protocols, and assist with special communication projects.
Qualifications
Academic Focus: Open to Liberal Arts and Social Sciences majors (Journalism, Communications, or Creative Writing—Jack J. Valenti School preferred) and C. T. Bauer College Marketing students.
Class Level: Junior- or senior-level standing preferred.
