Marketing & Communication Intern - Greater Houston Partnership

We serve over 1,000 member companies in the 12-county Houston region including Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, and Wharton counties.

Internship Details

The Marcom Intern will assist the Marketing & Communications department with developing and deploying email marketing campaigns for organizational activities and support in the development of blog content for Houston.org. In the process, the intern will gain experience in writing and designing digital content used for various marketing channels and build the skills necessary to work in a team environment. This is a hybrid, part-time position. Stipend opportunity available. The Partnership will cover the cost of parking or provide a Metro Q Card to cover bus/light rail expenses.

All assignments will be done in conjunction with a mentor/team member in the Marketing & Communications Division. Typical assignments include:
• Assist in the deployment of email marketing campaigns for membership, event, program and other organizational email marketing initiatives utilizing the Partnership’s email marketing platform, Marketing Cloud.
• Content creation: Drive traffic to the Houston.org website by writing blogs and assisting with web page creation.
• Assist with light graphic design of event and membership collateral as needed in conjunction with graphic design and project management team.
• Support ongoing efforts to track and measure performance of email marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a junior or senior undergraduate student with a strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to better understand the forces driving the local economy. Qualified candidates may have previous marketing and communications internship or similar experience and are currently working toward a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or general business and be in good academic standing.
