Description
Join SFR as our Social Media Manager Intern and help grow our online community on Instagram and TikTok. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys creating content, telling stories, and building an engaged audience while gaining real experience in social media marketing.
As the Social Media Manager Intern, you will create and schedule content, cover events, highlight members, and help shape SFR's online presence. You will work with the leadership team to plan campaigns, keep a content calendar, and track monthly growth. You will also stay up to date on social media trends and bring fresh ideas to the team.
Responsibilities
Create and publish content for Instagram and TikTok
Plan and maintain a weekly content calendar
Capture photos and videos at SFR events
Create event promotions before events and recap content afterward
Write engaging captions and research relevant hashtags
Monitor trends and suggest new content ideas
Track social media performance and submit a monthly report
Help maintain a consistent brand across all platforms
Engage with followers and other student organizations
Qualifications
Interest in social media, marketing, communications, or content creation
Comfortable using Instagram and TikTok (short-form content)
Strong written communication skills
Creative, organized, and reliable
Experience with Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, or similar editing tools is a plus but not required
Eligibility Criteria
Student between the ages of 16-23
Preferred to be based in Houston, Texas
Equipped with a 4K camera (DSLR, video production, iPhone, etc) and quality microphone

Benefits
$750 stipend breakdown:
$500 for personal use
$250 for boosting posts, meta ads, and other ways of getting traction on different platforms.
This internship offers practical experience managing social media for a growing student organization. Interns will build a portfolio of real content, gain experience with content planning and analytics, collaborate with student leaders, and develop skills in marketing, branding, and digital communications. Leadership opportunities may also be available for interns who wish to continue with the organization. Academic credit is not available.
