Job Description

Brown Academy of Sports (BAS) is looking for a creative, energetic, and motivated Social Media & Digital Content Intern to help bring our programs, athletes, coaches, and community to life online.

This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys social media, photography, video, storytelling, and digital marketing and wants real-world experience building a brand.

What You’ll Do

* Manage and help grow Brown Academy of Sports social media accounts
* Capture photos and short-form video during training sessions, events, school programs, and community activities
* Turn photos and videos into engaging social media content
* Create Instagram Reels, TikToks, Facebook posts, stories, and other digital content
* Help develop creative ideas for social media campaigns and promotions
* Write captions and create content that represents the BAS brand
* Maintain and update website content, photos, announcements, and program information
* Help keep our website and social media pages current and engaging
* Track social media activity and help identify what content performs best
* Work with coaches and BAS leadership to highlight programs, athletes, and success stories

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is:

* Creative and comfortable thinking outside the box
* Social-media savvy and understands current trends
* Comfortable taking photos and videos
* Interested in fitness, sports, youth development, or digital marketing
* Reliable, organized, and able to work independently
* Comfortable working around athletes, coaches, students, and families
* Willing to learn and take initiative

**Having your own camera is a plus, but it is NOT required.** A phone with a good camera and a willingness to learn can be enough to get started.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled at the University of Houston

• Must have a good working knowledge of social media

• Must be comfortable using social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and similar platforms

• Creative, dependable, and willing to take initiative

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• A camera is a plus, but not required. You can use your phone to capture quality photos and video.
