Sports Media and Communications Internship - No Excuses Foundation
The No Excuses Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing opportunities for youth and the community through sports, mentorship, and access to high level experiences. The Foundation presents the Summer No Excuses Pro League (NEPL), Houston’s Official Basketball Pro-Am, which is NBA Sanctioned and NCAA Certified. Operating out of the historic Fonde Recreation Center, NEPL has been a platform for professional, collegiate, and elite amateur athletes for over a decade. The league features 24 teams across men’s and women’s divisions and is committed to both athletic excellence and community impact, including youth engagement, mentorship, and career development opportunities.
Interns will gain hands on experience in a live sports environment through the Summer No Excuses Pro League (NEPL). This is a part-time, in person opportunity. Deadline to apply is May 16.
Responsibilities include:
• Assisting with live game production and broadcast operations
• Filming and editing game footage and player highlights
• Photography and content creation for social media
• Conducting player interviews and sideline reporting
• Writing game recaps, articles, and promotional content
• Supporting social media strategy and digital engagement
• Assisting with event operations and game day execution
This is a fast paced, high exposure opportunity where students will work directly with active professional and collegiate athletes.
Qualifications
• Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student
• Strong interest in sports media, communications, or production
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Availability for evenings and weekends during games
• Experience with cameras, editing software, or social media is a plus but not required
