Instructional Assistant - UH Center for Student Advocacy and Community
The Instructional Assistant for the Center for Student Advocacy and Community (CSAC) is a Graduate Student who supports the Center’s focus on student success by creating innovative programs and services for the student body. Direct responsibility will be determined by the individual’s skill sets as well as the needs of the Department. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
Job Duties
Develop, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of monthly/weekly programs for the department
Assist with the creation and design of community-building department programs.
Advise and/or supervise undergraduate student staff.
Build meaningful relationships and collaborations with campus and student constituency groups.
Assist in training and development of student leaders on topics related to advocacy, community, and belonging.
Directly support the mission of the department and help establish the Center for Student Advocacy and Community as a resource hub for campus resources and services related to academics and student life.
Participate in evaluation and assessment of programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required, with a strong preference for a master’s degree seeking students in student affairs, counseling, marketing, communications or related discipline; Strong organizational, administrative and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously is necessary. Successful candidates will embrace a student-centered philosophy and the ability to work with a diverse student population. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
