Job Description

This is an internship opportunity for current college students interested in science, health communication, journalism, or public relations. The Bente lab focuses on tick-borne viruses and communicates the cutting-edge infectious science conducted at the Galveston National Laboratory through podcasts, YouTube videos, and LinkedIn. We are looking for students who research the latest scientific breakthroughs and can help translate scientific knowledge to the lay audience through video or podcast scripts.

Qualifications

  • Current college junior or senior working towards a degree in health communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, YouTube, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Interest in science and health
