Development Intern - Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana

Together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. From our humble beginnings with one boy’s wish to be a police officer, we have evolved to be one of the world’s leading children’s charities, serving children in every community in the United States and its territories. With the help of generous donors and 500+ regional volunteers, Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana grants 650 children’s wishes each year.

Internship Description

EVENT, CORPORATE, INDIVIDUAL, and FOUNDATION FUNDRAISING
• Assist with donor communication, partner outreach, and stewardship activities.
• Draft outreach and thank-you messages, organizing content, conducting research on potential partners, assisting with event planning, and observing donor engagement when available.
• Help prepare for meetings, events, and wish.
• Assist with email marketing, event materials, and research and analytics.

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISING
• Coordinate and communicate with community partners and peer-to-peer fundraisers.
• Assist with Kids for Wish Kids and Teen Leadership Council communication, follow-up, and tracking outreach to schools, advisors, students, and partners.
• Create basic promotional materials, organize content, and conduct research on new school, corporate, and community partnership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree completed or in progress.
• Communications, business, or non-profit management majors.
• Confidentiality and personal integrity are essential.
