Audio/Visual Intern - Houston Ballet
Houston Ballet is a professional ballet company in Houston, Texas that seeks to inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance through artistic excellence, exhilarating performances, innovative choreography and superb educational programs. The Audio/Video department of Houston Ballet is responsible for the creation, organization and distribution of digital assets related to audio/video needs across multiple departments.
Job Description
This is an internship opportunity for current college students interested in audio/visual production and digital file asset management. In this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in tandem with our marketing and production teams. This is a part-time (15 hours per week), paid ($15/hour), in person internship.
Responsibilities include:
Assists with updating and cataloging Houston Ballet’s performance and rehearsal digital video archive.
Assist with filming Houston Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Program dance classes and performances.
Create updated archival performance video files to be added to the digital video archive.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Current college junior or senior working towards a degree in communication, media production, fine arts or a related field.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Creative thinking and strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Mac OS, and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Adobe Audition) and digital file conversion software.
Background or interest in dance or performing arts is not required but preferred.
