Audio/Visual Intern - Houston Ballet

Houston Ballet is a professional ballet company in Houston, Texas that seeks to inspire a lasting love and appreciation for dance through artistic excellence, exhilarating performances, innovative choreography and superb educational programs. The Audio/Video department of Houston Ballet is responsible for the creation, organization and distribution of digital assets related to audio/video needs across multiple departments.

Job Description

This is an internship opportunity for current college students interested in audio/visual production and digital file asset management. In this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in tandem with our marketing and production teams. This is a part-time (15 hours per week), paid ($15/hour), in person internship.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assists with updating and cataloging Houston Ballet’s performance and rehearsal digital video archive.

  • Assist with filming Houston Ballet Academy Summer Intensive Program dance classes and performances.

  • Create updated archival performance video files to be added to the digital video archive.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Current college junior or senior working towards a degree in communication, media production, fine arts or a related field.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Creative thinking and strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Mac OS, and Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, Adobe Audition) and digital file conversion software.

  • Background or interest in dance or performing arts is not required but preferred.
