Social Media Intern - NOV

NOV is an American multinational corporation based in Houston, Texas. It is a worldwide provider of equipment and components used in oil and gas drilling and production operations, oilfield services, and supply chain integration services to the upstream oil and gas industry. NOV is looking for a social medial intern to assist the social media lead in regular auditing of our official branded accounts, consistent content creation, communications/trainings with approved business unit admins, and reporting on organic metrics.  The position is an hourly student position for undergraduate students, and available through the HPE Data Science Institute.

The social media intern will assist the social media lead in regular auditing of our official branded accounts, consistent content creation, communications/trainings with approved business unit admins, and reporting on organic metrics.  

Job Duties:  

  • Assisting in building a content library for corporate initiatives 

  • Repurposing existing assets into new posts and creating templated graphics  

  • Weekly audits of all pages and social media inboxes 

  • Coordinating a set amount of social media posts per week 

  • Monitoring business unit assigned LinkedIn admins  

  • Analytics reporting for social media accounts 

Requirements 

  • Experience as a social media specialist or similar position- can be internship or part-time 

  • Focus on skills in critical thinking, communication, time-management and problem-solving skills. 

  • Knowledge of social media platforms including LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and Facebook 

  • Understanding of social media KPIs and metrics 

  • Experience in InDesign, Canva, or some graphic design tool.  

  • Willingness to learn
