KPFT 90.1 FM is a listener-sponsored community radio station in Houston, Texas, which began broadcasting March 1, 1970 as the fourth station in the Pacifica radio family. The station airs a variety of music, news, talk, and call-in programs.
Alerta de Inmigrantes/Immigrant Alert (AIIA) is a live bilingual (English/Spanish) talk show which centers on discussions of immigrants, immigrant rights, family safety, and immigrant news. The show is aired live, and guests engage via Zoom. We take calls from the listeners .

Co-Host -This unpaid internship/volunteer position offers hands-on experience in radio broadcasting. Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required (speaking, reading, and writing.) The "Alerta de Inmigrantes/Immigrant Alert" show is aired weekly at 9:30 am on Fridays and the intern will co-host after training. In addition to co-hosting the show and obtaining experience as on-air talent, the intern will help with show preparation, equipment setup and administrative tasks. In addition to co-host training, Pacifica Network on-line training is required, approximately one hour in length. Board Operator/Call Screener - This unpaid internship/volunteer position offers hands-on experience in radio broadcasting, specifically (but not limited to) technical knowledge related to operation of the board or audio console as well as the on-air telephone line. Proficiency in both Spanish and English is required. AIIA is aired weekly at 9:30 am on Fridays. The intern will be trained in operating the audio console, ensuring technical smoothness, working with on-air talent, protecting FCC requirements and restrictions, screening callers and patching them in to the show. In addition to in-person, hands-on technical training, Pacifica Network on-line training is required, approximately one hour in length.
