Houston Ballet Part-Time PR Associate
Hourly Rate: $15–$18/hr
Houston Ballet seeks a passionate and detail-oriented Part-Time PR Associate to support our media relations and communications efforts (Maximum 29 hours per week). This entry-level role is ideal for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in public relations and marketing while contributing to the success of one of the nation's leading ballet companies.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Monitoring & Coverage Tracking – Use Muck Rack to track and compile media coverage, maintaining organized reports.
Writing & Content Creation – Draft press releases, media alerts, and other PR materials for both the Company and the Academy.
Interview Coordination – Assist in scheduling and preparing dancers, artistic staff, and executives for media interviews.
Media Research & Pitching – Identify relevant media outlets and contacts, brainstorm compelling story angles, and support local and national media outreach.
Creative Storytelling & Strategy – Think strategically about how to position Houston Ballet in the press, researching trends and opportunities.
Administrative Support – Help maintain media lists, organize press materials, and ensure seamless PR operations.
Who We're Looking For:
A strong writer with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
Someone passionate about the arts, particularly dance, with an interest in PR and marketing.
A creative thinker who enjoys brainstorming new ways to tell Houston Ballet’s story.
A proactive and organized individual who can juggle multiple tasks efficiently.
Knowledge of PR tools (Muck Rack, Cision, etc.) and experience in media relations is a plus but not required.
Additional Details:
Hours are flexible but will require availability during performance weeks and key events.
This role is part-time and based in Houston, TX.
